To Be Clear

She said, “To be unclear is to be unkind.” Think about that for a minute. What if we determined to bring clarity to our relationships? What if instead of trying to be right, we worked to understand? What if our agenda was to create purposeful connection with others by being transparent and clear in our conversations?

There is no doubt that we need clarity in our lives today. We are living in uncertain and strange times. Many are living in fear and frustration. Accusations and blame abound in our society. Chaos and confusion can be found every time we look at our media sources. Our personal relationships are strained as we struggle to work and live in a new, and many times more difficult, way.

Meet Crystal Brown. I walked away from my conversation with this leader with new found hope and wisdom. Crystal is an African American who is leading with incredible insight and courage. She has experienced racism, a lack of respect, the challenge of being a black business leader in the deep south and the everyday challenges that come with being a mother and wife. Yet not one time during our conversation did she place blame. Instead she talked of legacy and moving forward in difficult times.

You will do yourself a favor by listening to this Crossing the Line conversation with Crystal Brown. This gifted leader shares from her heart while giving us the clarity that is required to lead well in these hard days. Trust me, this is one interview that will make a difference.
