The Greatest Leader

Political agendas… misinformation… the greed of meeting shareholder expectations at all cost… the travesty and horror of leading a needless war that continues to kill innocent people… It isn’t hard to see the selfish ambitions and agendas that leaders use to gain power, money and control. You don’t have to look far to see the motives behind the actions.

That’s why it’s important to me to share with you a leader who is none of those things. His name is Jesus. At this time of year, we who call ourselves Christ followers celebrate His resurrection and promise of hope. However, all of us can appreciate His life of selfless, servant leadership. He had every reason to exact revenge and bitterness and yet he chose to altruistically give, love and serve others. His impact cannot be denied and His legacy remains undeterred.

In this season of spring where new beginnings are happening all around us, I challenge us to take a look at our lives, our leadership and how we love others. Let’s take a look at the greatest leader, in my opinion, who ever lived. Jesus.

Let’s dare to begin a new walk of leading with an “others first” mentality. Let’s put our selfish agendas to the side and actively look to serve someone with no strings attached. When we choose to lead like the Greatest Leader who ever lived, we will make a difference.
