The Delivery Drop

He puts himself at risk for others. He is not a healthcare worker or grocery store worker but he is out there on the front lines. His name is Arnie, a local delivery man for an international shipping and delivery company. He suits up with gloves and mask and goes to work everyday. He and others who deliver are the reason we can sit safely in our homes and order the supplies we need and want.

There is something special about Arnie. When he drops your package you get the sense that he really cares. If you happen to open the door or you are outside when he arrives, you will see wrinkles forming behind his mask as he smiles. He checks on his customers and always brings a friendly demeanor with the packages he delivers.

There are many who choose to leave their homes and go to work each day so that others can stay protected and well. I think I’ll be more intentional about showing my appreciation to those who are risking their health and well-being in order to deliver goods and services to my home.

Thank you Arnie, for your work and for your care. You are special and you are making a difference.

Larry
