Khristie Goodwin
Khristie Goodwin is passionate about high-quality learning for ALL students. She’s spent the majority of her 30-year career serving in various capacities within city, county, and private schools, including as a teacher, school psychometrician, and administrator. Her expertise spans from special education to gifted education, and early childhood to secondary education.
Recently retired as a district-level administrator for Special Education Curriculum & Instruction, her career was marked by innovative and progressive leadership. Her legacy is building capacity through partnerships, collaboration, and team-building.
During her career, Khristie focused on building capacity of principals and instructional coaches/partners as well as teacher leaders. She effectively led teams of teachers and administrators as they learned to collaboratively focus on improving outcomes for students. Throughout her years of leadership in the education field, Khristie was committed to the personal and professional growth of all educators within the district; she now brings that same commitment to her educational partnerships with ECFL.
Khristie has been recognized by her professional peers and received several state and national level awards, including: 2022 Alabama ASCD Outstanding Leader Lifetime Achievement, 2017 Alabama ASCD Outstanding Curriculum Leader, 2016 & 2008 CLAS Leadership Award Finalist for Outstanding Leadership, 2011 IMSLEC Innovator Award for Professional Preparation in Dyslexia, 2008 Voyager Expanded Learning Founder’s Award (Closing the Achievement Gap), and the 2007-2008 Margaret Vann Special Education Coordinator of the Year.
Khristie continues to develop as an educational leader by participating in numerous national conferences, receiving training from renowned experts in the field, holding leadership positions in organizations like CLAS, ALACASE, and AASCD, and being a member of national education organizations to stay up-to-date on educational issues that affect the profession.
Khristie is committed to improving the lives of students through education and looks forward to continuing to build collaborative partnerships with educational organizations as a consultant for Eagle Center for Leadership. She is passionate and committed to improving the lives of students through quality education.
