Standing On One Foot
Studies show that being able to stand on one leg for 20 seconds is a reliable indicator of overall physical health, strength, and balance.
In the same way, being able to balance our emotions is a sign of strong, healthy relationships.
When our emotions are out of control, our relationships tend to become toxic and unstable. That might look like avoiding difficult conversations or exploding in anger at the people we love. Either way, when we let our emotions take the wheel, we lose the ability to create and maintain meaningful connection.
Healthy relationships require intentional effort. We have to build emotional muscles—the ones that help us manage ourselves, regulate how we react, and show up with empathy and self-awareness.
When we shift from letting our emotions control us to finding balance within them, it will make a difference in our relationships.
