Stand My Ground
The past week has proven to be incredibly intense, highlighting the deep divide within our country. That’s why I am standing my ground. This stance has little to do with political posturing and more to do with my call and commitment as a leader. I am choosing to remember who I am regardless of an election win or loss. I will continue to stand for the values that I know to be true. I will continue to stand on the principle of servant leadership and having an authentic care and concern for people of all colors and ethnicities.
I will not allow my disappointment in defeat or elation in victory to dictate my behavior toward others. I remain the same person either way. I will not treat others the way many seem to be treating those on the opposing side of the culture war in our country. I will stand on the leadership traits that have guided me throughout my entire life – respect and unconditional love for people. I will continue to stand on my faith and the convictions that drive me to invest and strive to make an impact as a Jesus follower.
Don’t misinterpret my stand as weak or wishy-washy. I know exactly who I am and what I believe. I am committed to work with perseverance to further the causes that I so deeply care about. I will not sit idly by and watch as the things I love and care about disappear. However, I will not become someone I am not in the process.
I am committed to the same leadership principles that I believed in before the 2020 election. I invite you to do the same. Choose to stand your ground for who you are and how you want to lead and you will make a difference.
