Opening My Eyes
My friend and entrepreneur was telling me about two of his favorite people. He met them through his hair salon business years ago. The couple is elderly, both well into their 90s. As he got to know them, he realized that they needed help in accomplishing the basic daily routine tasks of life. My friend decided to step up and offer help.
My friend stops his daily routine to serve this couple each week. From grocery shopping to taking them to doctor’s appointments, he is there to care for and to serve this couple.
He is not related to them. He has no financial agenda or ulterior motive. He simply saw a need and decided to meet it.
So many times, we see the overwhelming greed and selfishness in our world. This is a much-needed reminder that there are still people who are meeting the needs of others with a pure motive to offer a helping hand.
My friend’s actions have challenged me to open my eyes and look for opportunities to offer help to those around me.
