Embrace It

It is a pattern. I see it over and over again. For years I have walked with leaders and I consistently see it in those who are successful. The pattern I’m referring to is the constant choice to work hard. There is no way to sugar coat this trait. Those who lead well are those men and women who refuse to take short cuts in their leadership journey. They are committed, even determined to demonstrate a strong work ethic in their lives.

I realize that today we are saturated with get-rich schemes and instant gratification opportunities that rarely produce results. The truth is that nothing substitutes for plain old hard work. This is not an age or gender or socio economic issue. It is a choice that all of us must make. For the skeptics, I am not suggesting working or spinning on useless tasks. I am referring to those who have the discipline and determination to do what it takes to grow and achieve in the things that matter.

Regardless of the skill or job or pursuit, those who put in the work to accomplish their mission are much more likely to be successful in their endeavors. It’s time we stop with the endless excuses and blaming others for our lives. Instead, what if we put our energy into getter better at a particular skill or into achieving the goals we have set for our lives.

Need an example of this concept? Click the link and listen to part 2 of my interview with Sunny Kaila on our Crossing The Line podcast. This short conversation may just inspire you to continue or better yet, to start your journey of hard work heading toward your goals in life.

I challenge you to embrace hard work; it will make a difference!

Larry
