Building Bullseye Trust

Who do you trust? Picture a bullseye target; larger rings on the outside, smaller rings as you move inward, and the center, the bullseye itself.

The outer rings represent the people in your life that you trust with surface-level things—casual friendships, acquaintances, coworkers. As you move toward the center, the rings represent those you trust on deeper, more personal levels. And the bullseye? That’s reserved for the one or two people you trust with everything… your life, your fears, your truth. You know they’ll show up, no matter what.

Most of us can easily identify the outer-ring people. But when it comes to naming those we trust deeply, the list gets much shorter. That’s because trust doesn’t just happen; it takes time, effort, and consistency. And once it’s broken, it can be incredibly difficult to rebuild.

But when you do have people you can fully trust, it’s one of life’s greatest gifts. Deep trust leads to relationships that are not just fulfilling, but transformational.

Take a moment to reflect: What are you doing to build trust in your relationships? And just as important… what might you be doing that could damage it?

Check out our recent Relationshifts podcast episode, Bob Marley and Building Trust. It’s a fun and insightful look at what it takes to build trust with the people in your life.
