A Picture Worth a Thousand Words
If a picture is worth a thousand words, this one says volumes:
A leader within our organization has two beautiful, identical 7-year-old twin girls…except they are not. Identical, that is. While they look alike, once you get to know them, their differences become incredibly apparent. Wren is a list maker; she is detail oriented and loves things that are organized and structured. Harper lives for the moment; she knows how to have fun, and hasn’t met a mess she didn’t like.
I’ve written a book called Make A Difference that we have used globally for years to help people better understand how to communicate and relate to diverse personalities. There is an accompanying 20 question online profile assessment that will help you to identify your personality type. It’s free and I invite you take the test by clicking the link below:
Take the Test
In the Make A Difference language, Wren is a Competent Camel and Harper is a Much Loved Monkey. Each twin speaks a different language when it comes to validating and leading them.
I challenge you to take the time to learn a bit about speaking the language of diverse personalities. Learning how to relate to and lead those with different personalities is essential for effective and purposeful relationships.
Wren and Harper have parents who are committed to loving and leading each girl based on her unique personality. You can do the same with those who are in your circle of influence.
In our homes, businesses, or communities, when we choose to connect with those who are different from us, we will make a difference.
