Sunny Kaila on making it in America and leading with Humble Confidence (Part 1)

Sunny Kaila grew up on a farm in rural India. He came to the US as a teenager who was determined to work hard and take care of others. His journey took him through tough times yet he persevered. Sunny has lived a life of servant leadership and now leads a large international IT company.

Usually, as a person climbs the ladder of success they become less humble. Usually, but not always. It begins with serving and caring for those around us out of a spirit of authentic care and concern. This means that we must have the self assurance to lead with humility. Sunny calls it Humble Confidence.

Sunny’s business success is not what sets him apart. His skill or intelligence is not what makes him so intriguing. His heart is what sets him apart. In Part 1 of this 2-part interview, Sunny tells us about the challenges he overcame in his early life, from growing up in India to coming to the U.S. and working as a taxi cab driver while sending money back home to his family. His hard work resulted in the opportunity to bring his family to the United States. Sunny’s story is one not only of leadership and business success, but of family and persistence and chasing the “American dream”, and I know you’ll find it just as inspiring and insightful as I did.
