Kenya Congress on how she beat the odds

As the prison door closed, Kenya Congress found herself alone in her cell and realized that while so many of her choices had been taken away, her decision about how she would spend her time in prison was still hers. Kenya will tell you that was the moment that changed her life. She will tell you that she used her time in prison to literally change the direction of her life. Her life continued to be difficult. There was no magic dust that rescued her from her choices or from her environment. But she chose to fight for herself and she persevered.

Today, Kenya is an entrepreneur who is growing a business that is franchised across our state. More than that, she is a wonderful mother, wife and leader. She also is committed to leading her community through giving to those who are struggling. Perseverance, determination not to stay a victim of society, fierce faith, incredible attitude, and over-all kindness…you will find all of these things in her story. Seriously, you want to take the time to hear Kenya’s story…it’s one that will truly make a difference.
