Know Your Why

These are historic times. Politically, socially, economically, and technologically, we find ourselves in new and unchartered waters. That’s why I think this is the perfect time to take a step back and remember our ‘why’. My why centers around a person who I will celebrate this week.  He taught me what really matters in life. His example is one that I desire to follow. When life feels out of control and uncertain, He is my center point, my balance, and my peace.

This week, I will celebrate my relationship with the One I follow. His name is Jesus. For me, Easter is about His sacrifice and His resurrection of hope. I realize that many reading this may not share that same relationship, and I respect your choice. I can only share how my why has been a mainstay and guiding light to me for many years.

I hope you take some time to evaluate your why. Life is full of uncertainties and many things that are simply out of our control. However, we can control our purpose and our decisions. We can face the good times and bad with a determination to authentically love, care, and invest in those who are walking this journey of life with us.

I will take some time this week to remember that while there are many things out of my control, knowing my why is not one of them. I lead, love, and invest in others because the One I follow has given me purpose and, most of all, hope.

When we choose to live our why, we will make a difference.

Larry
