Here We Go Again
Here we go again… it’s time for New Year's resolutions and well-intended thoughts. Unfortunately, few of us will accomplish those goals or desires. Statistics tell us that by the middle of February, over 80% of people abandon their New Year's resolutions. The number that actually achieves their goals during the rest of the year is in single digits.
So why not try something different this year?
Instead of looking ahead and making empty promises to yourself, why don’t you look back? Spend some time reflecting on 2024. What went well? What was hard? Where did you fail? What could you have done differently?
Once you have gathered data on the past, use it to frame your future. Think about the lessons you have learned and begin weaving those lessons into your daily life. Don’t make resolutions about them, just start implementing them each day.
I want to live with more wisdom in 2025 than 2024. That means knowing when to take a stand, and having the courage to do it. It also means knowing when to stand still or step back, and having the discipline and discernment to do just that. This is not a resolution, it is an action that I am working on daily.
What one or two lessons will you bring into 2025? When we learn from the lessons of our past, we will make a difference.
Happy New Year!
