Celebrating The Love of Easter
This is the week many of us celebrate Easter. I realize there are those who do not celebrate this holiday, and I certainly respect that. For me, Easter is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus—and that changes everything. Jesus is the greatest example of love and relationship I have ever known. His life, His sacrifice, and His resurrection give me purpose and direction.
When I look at the way He loved people, I’m reminded that real love is not self-centered, conditional, or based on what we receive in return.
Real love gives.
Real love forgives.
Real love is not performance-based.
Real love sacrifices.
One of the most impactful shifts we can make in our relationships is moving from self-centeredness to unconditional love. It’s easy to fall into a “what’s in it for me” mindset, but that way of thinking often leads to defensiveness and selfishness.
Strong relationships are built on that kind of selfless love. Jesus has modeled that for me, and it’s why Easter holds such meaning in my life. I’m grateful for His love—it has truly made a difference.
Happy Easter!
Larry
